Validus DC Systems is now expanding its sales force to deliver our direct current technology to the data center. Direct current is gaining significant momentum as its numerous value propositions are extremely compelling to the data center owner.
The candidate must have at least 10 years of direct sales experience in the data center market, specifically selling mission critical power systems equipment to the most senior levels of fortune 500 organizations. Polished presentation skills are important along with a solid technical understanding of the data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
This position requires gaining access to and meeting with C level executives. The preferred candidate will have demonstrable experience presenting to, meeting with and establishing long-term relationships at this level. A history of consistently exceeding quota is required. Start up experience is a plus.
A current relationship with the leading electrical design firms in your territory is a must. Direct relationships with server OEM sales and product teams is a plus.
The candidate must reside in the territory.

Senior R&D Engineering Technician

Validus DC Systems, the industry leader in direct current distribution systems for mission critical facilities, is seeking an experienced Sr. R&D Engineering Technician, located in our headquarters facility in Brookfield, CT. This candidate will be required to support the engineering department by building, documenting and testing power supply prototypes and testing units. Ability to troubleshoot and build general analog and/or digital electronics circuit, breadboards, wire wrapping, harnessing and cabling. Winding simple magnetics per engineering direction. Perform tests on qualification units and engineering prototypes. Work with design engineers to identify and improve product designs and test methods. Train manufacturing operators on the correct assembly and testing of new products and documenting and collecting data in a laboratory notebook. May be required to maintain test equipment calibration, assisting operations test and support. Ability to work well with team members or independently in a fast-paced, interrupt-driven environment.
Minimum Qualifications
AA, AS degree of 5-10 yeas equivalent experience
Thorough knowledge of power electronics concepts, and power topologies
Understanding of engineering documentation and principles
Able to read and understand schematics
Experience using typical R&D laboratory test equipment

Critical Power Systems Design Engineer

Validus DC Systems, the industry leader in direct current distribution systems for mission critical facilities, is seeking an experienced power systems design engineer to support our Technical Services Group located in our headquarters facility in Brookfield, CT. Responsibilities will include design and layout of mission critical power systems including: incoming service entrance equipment, large scale rectifier plants with input voltages from 208 to 13.8 KVAC, 400 VDC and 48 VDC distribution systems, battery systems, alternative energy systems, busway, monitoring and control systems. Qualified candidates will also be able to perform short circuit and coordination studies, arc flash calculations and have a full understanding of the relationships between technology equipment, mechanical equipment and power systems. This position will directly interface with suppliers, consulting engineers, end users, contractors and our in-house manufacturing and product engineering staff. This position requires a working knowledge of the typical uninterruptible power, generation and distribution systems found in traditional AC powered data centers.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited University
EIT or PE certification preferred
Experience in AC powered data center/critical facility design
Understanding of, or experience in, direct current power systems
Field or Electrical Construction experience
Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD MEP, MS Word, Excel. MS Project
Familiarity with NEC, OSHA, NFPA, UL, IEEE and NEBS standards
Strong written and verbal skills
