This scalable switchboard supports a wide range of DC voltages at  600 or 400 VDC and integrates multiple system inputs, stored energy devices, battery chargers and provides critical load distribution. It has been designed to support a number of system topologies and can be readily applied in Tier 1 through Tier 4 applications.  


Each section of the switchboard can be configured to accept multiple inputs from similar sources to increase system reliability and capacity.  The Power Distribution Module includes a standardized interface for the Validus line of battery chargers and battery cabinet systems.  It includes dedicated 24 VDC controls and all required interface components.  UL and TUV approved.

The Power Quality Module is the alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC) interface to the data center. It can be configured to accept a wide range of medium to low voltage AC voltage inputs at either 50 or 60 Hz with ratings from 150 kW up to 2.5MW per unit. These rugged, patented, high quality units are twelve pulse, are air-cooled, SCR devices that utilize a state-of-the-art, solid-state, phase locked loop controller which includes a variety of enhanced features to ensure compatibility with the Validus product family.  The units are highly reliable, highly efficient and are equipped with a number of proactive monitoring features. UL and TUV approved.

The Power Converter Unit is a state-of-the-art patented product that efficiently converts 30 kW of power per unit from an input voltage range of -600 through -300 volts direct current with a constant output of -54 volts direct current.

The power converter module can be installed at the top of an equipment rack or combined in a Power Converter Unit with up to four (4) independent modules to deliver 120,000 watts of -48 VDC usable power. The Power Converter Unit is equipped with an advanced user interface system which includes multiple options for monitoring the equipment on an internal network or over the Internet.

The Validus Power Quality Battery Charger is an air cooled, AC input, stand alone battery charging system designed to seamlessly interface with the entire Validus product family. They have been designed and manufactured utilizing the latest digital and power electronics technologies to meet the demanding reliability requirements of mission critical facilities.


Based on or design approach extremely low levels of ripple are produced which helps enhance battery performance and life expectancy. The units are available in a variety of input voltages, input frequencies and current ratings.

The Validus solution can seamlessly integrate any number of direct current based stored energy sources to provide backup power into the system. These inputs typically include sealed VRLA batteries, wet cell batteries and/or flywheels. By taking advantage of the simple characteristics of direct current these input options can be expanded to include alternative battery sources or any new or existing dc power source which can deliver voltage to the system within an appropriate range.
